Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has sent a condolence message to the Nigeria Police following the death of some of its men who died on Tuesday in a road accident.

The accident which occurred on Tuesday along Oba-Ile-Airport road, Akure, the State capital, claimed two lives of police operatives, while many others were injured.

Akeredolu in a statement released through his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo said: “The scene was rather disturbing and quite pitiful as I got there shortly after it happened. It touches more when the victims were officers of the Nigeria Police who died not just in active service but on the line of duty.”

“This is an irreplaceable loss, no doubt. Nonetheless, our solace can only be drawn from the eternal comfort that He Giveth and Taketh.”

“As a Government, our hearts are with the authorities of the Nigeria Police as well as the immediate families of the departed. This is a shared moment and unfortunately so.”
