    Early Life & Background

    Opeyemi Gbenga Kayode known with the stage name, Pepenazi, is an award winning Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper born on April 16, 1988

    Pepenazi was born and and rsied in Lagos State but originally a native of Odigbo, Ondo State.

    He attended Kemeesther Nursery and Primary School in Aguda Surulere, Lagos and Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State for his primary and secondary education respectively.

    He also obtained a bachelors degree in estate management at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

    Career

    Pepenazi joined the Nigerian music industry in 2012 with the release of his first rap single “Arose” as produced by Bam Tunes as accompanied with a lovely visual.

    He followed it up with the release of two singles “You” and “Low” which became a street anthem among music fans with the accompanied music video having guest appearances from the likes of Iyanya, DJ Spinall, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun and so on.

    He had developed his passion for music with influence from the likes of Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, I.K Dairo and Fela Kuti.

    Pepenazi gained more fame with the release of his collaborative single “Illegal” alongside Olamide.

    He had continued to thrill his fans with more hit releases such as “I Ain’t Gat No Time” and “Ase” featuring Tiwa Savage.

    Pepenzai had also worked with the likes of Ice Prince, Reminisce, Falz, Mz Kiss, Lucy Q, Xino, Samklef and many others.
