OVERVIEW OF: ASUU Strike: Federal Government Agrees To Pay N30Billion Earned Allowance
President Muhammadu Buhari-led on Thursday agreed to release the sum of N30 billion earned academic allowance to Lecturers in universities.
Further report revealed that the money will be released in tranches between May 2021 and February 2022.
According to Punch, the Nigeria Government also promised to spend N20 billion on the revitalisation of the education sector as part of the agreement to end the seven-month strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The decisions were reached during the meeting between leadership of ASUU and FG.
Recall that the Federal Government blamed ASUU for the #EndSARS protest rocking states across Nigeria.
