Strain is fermenting at the Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State over the sack of more than 100 laborers yesterday.
A source at the establishment revealed to The Nation that letters of separation were sent to the influenced laborers by means of email on Tuesday night. The source said the school guaranteed that the financial emergency brought about by COVID-19 pandemic was the explanation behind the conservation.
One of the influenced laborers, who argued namelessness, told our correspondent that the college sent sack letters to more than 100 individuals from staff on Tuesday night "and this is creating strain on the grounds now."
He stated: "More than 100 of us are influenced and we may turn to viciousness in light of the fact that the explanation behind the sack was not veritable. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, as of late purchased a vehicle worth over N42 million notwithstanding the monetary circumstance. So you can see that it is brought about by devilishness and obtuseness."
College representative Toba Adaramola affirmed that the organization sacked a few laborers.
"Innovation can deal with the obligations of most laborers that were sacked. So it is a method of continuing the college with the goal that it can keep up its status. There is no dissent in the school," he said.
