OVERVIEW OF: Ndidi Rues Leicester City Failure To Secure Top-Four Place
Wilfred Ndidi can’t hide his disappointment after Leicester City missed out on a spot in the Champions League following Sunday’s disappointing 4-2 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, reports NK Media.
The Foxes led twice in the game through Jamie Vardy but ended the season on a disappointing note after falling short once again on the final day.
The defeat was more painful after Chelsea failed to secure a win at Aston Villa, losing 2-1 to Dean Smith’s men.
Brendan Rodgers’ side also came close to securing a place in the Champions League last season, but a 2-0 defeat on the final day against Manchester United at the King Power Stadium put paid to their ambition.
City finishes fifth for the second time in as many seasons, having accumulated 66 points from 38 outings and will make do with fifth and another stint in the Europa League.
A visibly disappointed Ndidi took to social media to show his frustration with the way the season ended for the team.
“Unfortunately we didn’t hit our target but we come back stronger next season. Oh yeah we made history
Thank you all for your support throughout the season, it was amazing seeing most of you at the stadium,” the Nigeria international tweeted.
